Utilities
The Utilities (Alt-U) menus are specific to the application area selected. Each perform operations that are occasionally needed but less commonly used than the activities or transactions on the menu panel (on the left). The purpose and operation of utility tools vary greatly; however, utilities tend to be more operational than data maintenance oriented. Typically, utility programs change some kind of data (items, documents, customers, etc.) and some of these changes can be permanent or at least very difficult to reverse. Due to this, we suggest that your company limit user access to utilities. Users who are provided access should be made aware of each allowed utility's specific function and purpose.
