TSYS Cayan

TSYS Cayan, LLC is a card payment technology company providing cloud-based card processing services for businesses that we now offer as another option to our customers. Integration with the TSYS Cayan™ Genius® platform utilizes Verifone® MX series card devices which provide access to their cloud based solutions. EMV (chip card) transactions are fully supported. Most communication occurs between the Genius device and TSYS Cayan web services. Internet access is therefore required and permission to reach the required URLs used for processing must be granted through any firewall or security software used. TSYS Cayan cannot be used in combination with other card interfaces.

The TSYS Cayan interface is available with release 12 (expected release date of January 2017) and later versions of the Spruce Anyware application.

TSYS Cayan Portal

TSYS Cayan provides an on-line portal that offers management, reporting, and transaction processing capability. The portal is accessed from the web site: https://portal.merchantware.net.

Special Considerations

By default TSYS Cayan does not enable refunds by swipe. If you want to have this capability, TSYS Cayan must be contacted to enable this feature.

Manual card entry for refund transactions is not permitted by TSYS Cayan. Refunds must either reference a prior sale assigned to a token, or use the swipe option (which must be enabled). Additionally, returns cannot be processed to a gift card using a card device, but can be done from TSYS Cayan's online portal.

If your company wants to limit (prevent) use of specific card types, you will need to contact TSYS Cayan as this must be done for each device. In addition, you can also limit the card types in the software (parameters); however, this doesn't prevent any processing once the device is involved (we don't receive the card type back from the device until after a transaction is processed). There is no way for us to limit card types due to the device being solely responsible for processing.

"Card on File" transactions will only be permitted across branch locations if TSYS Cayan links your branches together by assigning them to a "chain." They must be contacted to do this. Each branch location has its own merchant account with TSYS Cayan which operates as an independent entity unless TSYS Cayan is instructed to chain (link) those merchant accounts together. Once chained (linked), any "card on file" tokens saved for customers can then be used across branch locations. Branch locations (merchant accounts) can only belong to one "chain."
