Parameter Settings > Setup > EDI > True Value Rewards Tab

The settings found on the Setup, EDI, and True Value Rewards tab are used for some aspects of EDI and True Value Rewards processing. These settings are typically read-only and can only be viewed and/or modified by support personnel. Choose Process (F12) to save any changes made.

Catalog FTP Credentials

These settings are used for retrieving the vendor's catalog via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). If your company encounters issues retrieving the vendor catalog, it may be necessary to allow permission through your company's firewall for the URL listed in the "FTP Address" text area. Interruptions of Internet service will cause any FTP operation to fail.

Credentials are used for retrieving a catalog using the "Catalog Load" option provided with "Extras" in the Vendor EDI transaction available from the Purchasing area's menu.

Rewards Coupons

These settings determine how rewards coupons are handled by the application.

Rewards Coupon Item Prefix

This is optional and indicates the prefix used when adding coupon items (from the vendor catalog data). When adding coupons as items, the prefix (if any) is appended to the beginning of the coupon's SKU. This would only be necessary if your company already has non-coupon items with a prefix of "TVR" which is the usual prefix for True Value coupons. Any prefix you specify here doesn't replace any part of the vendor SKU and would still include the "TVR" characters. For example, if you add a prefix of "XYZ," the coupon SKU of "TVR123" would become an item SKU of "XYZTVR123" when added to inventory.

We only suggest adding a prefix if absolutely necessary. If used, any later removal of the prefix may require significant file maintenance and cause issues with coupon authorization.

Coupons are Taxable by Default

If checked, the application will always assume that reward coupon type items are taxable. By "taxable," this means that we assume your company is being reimbursed for the coupon and therefore the addition of a rewards coupon reducing the amount the customer pays does not at the same time adjust sales tax. The sales tax will be calculated as if the customer were paying full price for the products being sold (the coupon's use doesn't reduce the tax in other words). The "taxable" flag on the coupon items is disregarded when this parameter is enabled.

Automatically Add Coupons to Inventory

Coupons are initially added to the vendor catalog (they may be hidden from inquiry). If checked, the items will also be added to Inventory (as rewards coupon type items) at the same time. Coupons must be items in order to be used during a sale.

Enable True Value Limited Use Coupons

This option enables limited use coupons. Limited use coupons must be authorized via a web service for your company to be reimbursed by True Value Company.

Web Service Timeout

This sets the default time-out when waiting for a response from a True Value web service. Web services are used for certain types of True Value operations such as rewards look-up and authorizing limited-use coupons (web services are usually reserved for operations that don't involve file transfers). Internet access is necessary for web service communication. Firewall and security settings can potentially interfere with this type of communication. Interruptions of Internet service will cause any web service communication to fail.

Quick Credit Applications

These settings are used for Quick Credit Card applications using TSYS Cayan and Verifone MX model signature pad devices.

Quick Credit Agreement

This is the text that displays when the applicant provides their cell phone number during the application. Basically, this is the applicant agreeing to be contacted by phone, text, etc.

Logging Enabled

This is used for debugging communication. In production, it should not be used or left on except when researching an issue.
