PS Open Tickets Document

In the United States, Canada, and elsewhere, this transaction document is referred to as an Open Ticket and in the United Kingdom (UK), the Open Ticket transaction this document originates from is referred to as an Advice Note. Regardless of region, this document is assigned to a type of PS Open Ticket.

The Point of Sale transaction (Open Tickets or Advice Notes (UK)) provides the ability to reduce inventory (quantities) immediately in advance of payment and final invoicing. An added benefit is that changes to the ticket transaction are allowed prior to final invoicing. Tickets are required for use with the Installed Sales transaction. Another way in which an advice note (aka. open ticket) is unique is that once invoiced, the original document ID is retained and converted to an invoice (rather than a separate document). This means that any PS Open Tickets listed in Document selection drop downs have not been invoiced.

Document Search Options

A number of Search Options are offered for PS Open Tickets type documents. These include filtering the documents based on account, job, item, and amount. Users can also specify one or more branches (when applicable) and use any of the standard selection criteria that includes date ranges, user ID, reference ID, and notes. Most search and selection criteria may be used in combination and most fields support the use of the % wildcard character.

Advice Note/Open Ticket Styles

There are currently six (6) styles for advice notes/open tickets: Ticket, Pick Ticket, Dispatch, Yard, Delivery Slip, and Ticket Savings.

1.Ticket

This is a customer copy of the ticket. It can optionally include item pricing and notes. If pricing is not selected, totals are not printed either.

2.Pick Ticket

This style is similar to the "yard" style but is intended for delivery staging. The "pick ticket" style includes all products (regardless of any assigned yard code) and groups them based upon their assigned location(s). No pricing or totals are printed. An area for delivery information is printed at the bottom of the form.

3.Dispatch

This style is intended for store-use and delivery purposes. It contains no pricing, but does list additional information about items such as yard codes, locations, and notes. In addition, there is an area at the bottom for delivery information.

4.Yard

This style is intended for yard use. The yard style only lists those products that have been assigned a "yard code" in Item Maintenance. Yard documents don't include any pricing or totals. Columns are provided for printing the yard flag and locations assigned to the listed products. The bottom of the document includes an area for signatures if desired.

5.Delivery Slip

This is a customer copy of the ticket. It can optionally include item pricing and notes. If pricing is not selected, totals are not printed either.

6.Savings

This style is similar to the invoice "savings" style. A comparison is made between the customer's pricing and the store retail (level 0) price. If different, the store retail and savings amount is printed.
