Device Maintenance Form

You use the Device Maintenance form, (Maintenance > Database > Devices) to define the network devices that interface with the software. Two types of devices can be defined: stations and printers. A "station" refers to a computer or mobile device that runs the application or one of our mobile apps. Once added, the device will be accessible from our software applications.

Begin by selecting either the "station" or "printer" radio button. Screen options will change based on your selection. Next, enter or select an existing device, or instead, enter a new device name when adding a new printer or station to the database.

Stations

Stations are required for determining how network computers and mobile devices are used along with our software. Adding a station to the database does not perform any networking configuration, terminal services, or other procedures that may be required for the particular workstation to function within your network. This must be done before software configuration in the application. All network and device configuration is the responsibility of your company.

Printers

Adding a printer to the database does not ensure that it will be available to all users. Printers must first be installed and accessible by each computer independent from the application (within Windows® operating system). There is a specific way that printers must be installed to work properly between the application, server, and network clients (PC's). Please see the topic Printer Configuration for more information about installing a printer.
