Moneris®

Moneris is Canada's largest payment processor and acquirer of debit and credit card payments.1 For Canadian businesses, ECI works with Moneris to provide an additional option for integrated card processing for Spruce software.

Moneris is in the process of replacing their counter-top Ingenico IPP320 model network interface (IP) devices with the Verifone P400, beginning in April of 2025. As businesses go through this transition, ECI will continue to support both device types until the transition is complete. Integration cannot be done with USB or other types of connected devices.

In general, devices are provided by Moneris and typically they use a rental model rather than outright purchase for these devices. As with any card processing integration, additional set-up and maintenance fees apply. Devices and services from Moneris are in addition to any fees or maintenance ECI Software Solutions, Inc. may charge. For the latest pricing, please contact a sales representative.

Signature collection is not required for card processing in Canada, but the P400 devices has signature capture capabilities. In addition, you can use these devices for gift card processing. No item display feature is provided.

Customer receipts are printed in the language of the card (either French or English). Merchant receipts are printed in English.

Firewall Permission

Moneris devices communicate through an Internet web service. For this reason, your network must permit access to the following URL:

https://ipg1.moneris.com:443

The connection requires TLS (Transport Level Security) version 1.1 or 1.2. This is supported by Windows 10 and above but may require framework updates.
