Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp)® Maintenance
This area is used for mapping either Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp Financial) card holders or accounts to customer accounts. If your company has had the new Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) API (Application Programming Interface) enabled, this form is used for "account" mapping instead of "card holder" mapping. In this case, the appearance of this screen will be different than in past/prior versions. Prior versions required that a company using Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) services map each card holder to an account. Now, with the new API, it's possible to map just the customer's Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) account to an existing customer account.
Why the change? The new Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) API provides some additional information (such as credit limits, etc.) and more secure identity information about each cardholder. In addition, the new API doesn't store any card holder information in the application database. When the new API is enabled, a dynamic listing of card holders will be generated for that account at Point of Sale. In this case, card holder data is populated by contacting a Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) web server via the Internet to retrieve the latest information. Unless and until this feature is enabled, this maintenance form requires that users map specific card holders to customers. It is possible that at some point, the card holder mapping will no longer be supported or provided. The new API is currently only enabled upon request and must be enabled by ECI Support personnel.
Mapping an account as Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) changes some account functionality. Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) accounts are required to be "Cash" type accounts. If the customer was previously a receivable's account, their balances or open item information will be retained; however, they won't be able to use "charge" as a payment method except in regards to Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp Financial) processing. Please see the topic Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) Integration for more information about requirements and function.
To view card holders or the account mapped to a specific and existing customer, use the "For Account:" drop-down selection option. To view all unassigned accounts, click the "Unassigned Only" radio button and select View (F5). To view all card holders regardless of their assignment status, choose either the "All Card Holders" or "All Customers" radio button (the text depends on the API you are using) and select View (F5).
Where does this information come from?
The list of Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp Financial) card holders or accounts is retrieved using a scheduled SQL operation on a daily basis from Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) server via your company's Internet connection. When using the new API, you can manually update the list of Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp) accounts by choosing the Download (F6) function. Customers must complete an application and approval process to be assigned a Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp Financial) account.
